This is far from my favorite year, but its worth the listen. Its the only time i can remember when they split Cassidy.

Second Set - Cassidy > Uncle John's > Cassidy

http://www.archive.org/details/gd93-05-27.sbd.miller.27777.sbeok.flac

Pine Knob - 91 - Second set opener - Throwing Stones > Iko Iko with a Throwing Stones reprise at the end of the set,

http://www.archive.org/details/gd91-06-20.aud.ladner.2187.sbeok.shnf

The Omni - first Slipknot! snuck in between Eyes and Chinadoll

http://www.archive.org/details/gd74-06-20.sbd.clugston.2179.sbeok.shnf

And then there was this odd combo of He's Gone > Spoonful> Comes a Time > Lost Sailor > Drums

http://www.archive.org/details/gd85-11-01.oade.connor.9217.sbeok.shnf

Last but not least - Sam Boyd Silver Bowl - Saint Of Circumstance > He's Gone > drumz>space> Attics > Spoonful> Other One > Morning Dew ( a rare attics and a seemingly out of place spoonful )

I just finished listening to St Stephen>It's A Sin>St Stephen>Lovelight from 4/17/69 on the Download Series They also played it on 4/23/69 but the segue between St Stephen and It's A Sin is cut, which IS a sin! On the 4/17/69 uncut segue it goes from "Stephen fill it up & lower down & lower down again to "my baby told me from the start. She said "darlin' you breakin' my heart" And I know its a sin, it's a sin" (through the rest of the song)..its a sin, its a sin Did he doubt or did he try? Answers aplenty in the bye and bye.." Really bizarre combo!

Another favorite is Good Lovin'>China Cat Sunflower>Good Lovin' fom 1/2/72 when during a gritty Pigpen song you suddenly find yourself in China Cat Sunflower and just as quickly find yourself back in Good Lovin'. Turn-on-a-dime Grateful Dead moment for sure!

There is a great thread on this somewhere. Fall 85 has a half Step>I Know you rider.

Although rare it may not be what you are looking for but MSG fall 88 has a NFA>Scarlet to open the 2nd set. The transition is amazing. Wish they did this combo more.

If anyone knows where that thread is it will help this guy because I remember a ton a great ones

As discussed in the "68 Early StSt Redux" thread the other day, some of those early ones in which they went into either CE or LLight after StSt were unusual (at least relative to what become so standardized for us from Aug 68 onward), and the one that I really found odd was the ATTEMPT (they stopped) of StSt into DS!
